End of Summer Celebration

Saturday, July 30 at 2 p.m.

Celebrate stories, tales, and lore we’ve read this summer! Party at one of our End of Summer Celebrations hosted at five branches. Enjoy live music and a grand prize drawing for 6-12 year olds.

Summer Reading Goodie Bags

Log reading minutes this summer to receive a goodie bag full of fun surprises!  Beginning July 1, once participants have completed five hours of reading, they can come to any branch and pick up a goodie bag (while supplies last.)

Here’s what to do:

  • Beanstack: Participants will receive an email once they have logged five reading hours (300 minutes.)  Present the email to library staff at any location to get your goodie bag.
  • Reading tracker: Once participants have marked off five reading hours on their paper tracker, bring it to any library branch and staff will give you a goodie bag.

Grand Prize Giveaway

Sponsored by Window World of Central Florida

Does your child or teen want a chance to win an amazing prize?  Then get ready to surf through the Summer Reading Challenge!  Encourage youth to read 20 minutes a day and log at least 10 hours by July 23 to be entered into the prize drawing prize drawing for each age group.  Exciting prizes include Nintendo Switch Lites, scooters, iPads, tablets, art sets, science kits, LEGO sets, gift cards and more!

  • Beanstack users: all reading minutes must be logged by July 23.  Once completed, the reader will be automatically entered into the grand prize drawing through their Beanstack account.  Minutes logged after this date will not be counted toward prize-winning eligibility. And don’t forget to make sure the reader’s library card is linked to their Beanstack account.
  • Reading tracker users: the tracker must be fully filled out and turned in by July 23 for entry into the grand prize drawing.  No reading trackers will be accepted after July 23.
  • Participants are eligible to win up to one grand prize by EITHER a) attending one of the in-person End of Summer Celebrations taking place on July 30 for ages 6-12, OR b) by a virtual raffle held on August 1.  Early learners (ages 0-5) and teens (ages 13-18) winners will only be eligible for virtual drawings for their respective age group.
  • Only participants ages 0-18 are eligible to enter the Grand Prize Giveaway.  18 year olds must choose to participate in either the Youth Summer Reading Program or the Adult Summer Reading Program.  An Orange County library card in good standing is required to win - including property owner and fee cards.  One entry per person.  Reciprocal borrowers, OCLS staff and their families, including board members, are ineligible.  Participants are able to win one prize each.
  • Participants that do not win a prize at the in-person End of Summer Celebration will be eligible for winning in a virtual drawing.  Virtual drawing winners will be selected on August 1 and be notified through email by August 6.

OCLS thanks our community partners for their generous support!
