What is Request Home Delivery (MAYL)?

Library customers with Resident cards (those who live within the district) are eligible for MAYL (Materials Access from Your Library). Since 1974, the Library has been delivering your requests to your doorstep instead of holding them at a library location for pickup. Most of our deliveries are made by Priority Express Parcel to your home, while the remainder are sent by US Mail.

If you are interested in receiving a title, click on the “Request Home Delivery” link or the “Request” button and enter your name, card number, and PIN. Once you click the “Submit” button, you will be taken to a screen which informs you that the request has been successful.

When you view your holds in your online library card account, you will notice the title of the item/s you requested, along with the hold status (how many holds are on the item), the pickup location (Home Delivery), and the canceled if not filled by date.  Note: a status of “In transit” means that the item is moving between library locations. The status will change to a due date when the item has been sent out for delivery.

When the Library locates a copy of the title which you have requested, we will have it delivered to the address listed on your account at no charge to you.

Items can be returned in person to any OCLS location. Return of items is the responsibility of the patron, including return postage charges if returned by mail. Packages returned through the mail without postage will result in the patron’s account being charged for postage cost plus a $5.00 processing fee. Please note that all Library locations have an after hours drop box.
